Management Committee. A large attendance was present at a meeting of the Mangonui Rugby Union, which was held in Foster’s Rooms, Kaitaia, on Tuesday evening. Mr Norman MacDonald presided. As a result of an altercation which occurred during the progress of the Pukepoto-Ahipara junior match on Saturday last, Adam Busby, of Pukepoto, is to stand down for one playing Saturday. Acting on the recommendation of the referee in charge, it was decided that a similar penalty be imposed upon Brown Walters (Manukau), and L. de Richter (Valley), which players were ordered off in Saturday’s junior match between Manukau and Valley. Whe*n dealing with this last-mention-ed incident, the secretary was instructed to communicate with officials of the Valley Club, asking them to issue a definite warning to players concerning such offences. The following teams were nominated as third grade competitors:—Kaitaia High School, Manukau-Herekino (combined) and Ahipara. In the case of High School boys, permission was given allowing boys who have recently left school to play in that team. Mr J. T. Clark has donated a heifer to augment the Schools’ Football Association funds. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr Clark. In order to ascertain the future intentions of the Herekino Club, which has failed to field a team for the past two Saturdays, it was left in the hands of the club’s delegate to submit a report. Should Herekino withdraw from '.he competition, . a local senior team will be selected to play Kaitaia on Saturday. Nominations for the s seven-a-side tournament, to be held on the King’s Birthday, will close on Saturday. Medals will be awarded to the winning team, and the senior winning team will receive a cup.
