SHOOTING MYSTERY

YOUNG MAN IN HOSPITAL. DRAMA OF EARLY MORN. C Special to "Northern Advocate”l HAWERA, This Day. With a serious bullet wound in his chest and in a serious condition, Roy Watson Stevens, a young man of Hawera, was admitted to a private hospital yesterday morning about 2 o’clock. The night watchman at the Hawera brewery heard a rattling on the door of the brewery building and found Stevens on the steps leading to the door. The injured man was in a collapsed state, and indicated that his condition was due to a bullet wound. He was covered with blood and had evidently made his way to the building guided by the light. The watchman assisted Stevens inside and called a doctor, who administered first aid.
