AWANUI

Mr Arthur Bridgeford is at present spending a week, with his parents, Unahi Road, Awanui. Mr McColl, of Auckland, arrived in Awanui on Saturday night to spend a few days, on business. Last week the Tambourica Orchestra, from Sweetwater, held a dance in the Awanui Hall. The band, under the leadership of Mr Peter Batistich, was composed of twelve players with stringed national instruments. During the evening the orchestra played two pieces! the “Spanish Serenade,” and the New Zealand National Anthem. Supper was served during the evening. Competitions won by Miss Ann Henahan and Mr A. Ford were a waltzing competition and a paper hat dance. Mr J. Ormsby was M.C.
