BRIGHTENING THEIR LOT

AT CHRISTMAS TIME

(From o>ir Parliamentary Special.) WELLINGTON, This Day,

At least the same treatment as was meted out to unemployed last Christmas will be given again this Christmas, according to a statement which was made in the House of Representatives by the acting-Minister of Employment. Mr. Young said the matter was occupying the attention of the board at present. Suggestions had been made concerning a Christmas box, and the board was endeavouring to treat the men as generously as it could. Messrs. W. E. Parry (Labour. Auckland Central) and F. Jones (Labour, Dunedin South) inquired as to what transport . arrangements would be made for men in camps at Christmas. The Minister replied that this question was the subject of inquiry by the board.
