PROGRESS AT WAIHI. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) WAIHI. This Day. The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Goldraining Co., Ltd.— For the period ended September 29, 29,074 tons of ore were crushed for a result of 4940 fine ounces of gold and 36,859 fine ounces of silver. This includes 1858 tons from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 531 ounces of gold and 1539 ounces of silver, also 502 tons of residues, from the old Waihi mill site, which yielded 65 ounces of gold and 867 ounces of silver. No. 5 level.—Crosscut north at 800 feet west on the Martha lode: At 193 feet in the north branch of the Martha lode a reef has been intersected,, time width 6ft. The assay value is 43/3 a ton. The course of the lode is 53 degrees, and the dip li to the north. The crosscut holed to the drive on the north branch at 209 ft. No. 6 level, —Martha lode, north branch: Driving west the next 44ft. is ore of good grade, about 2ft. wide. The next 14ft. assays 5/9 a ton, the width being about 3ft. No. 7 level.—Martha lode, north branch: Dxiving west, the next 36ft, is of little or no value, the lode being about 2£ft. wide. function No. 6. —Intermediate level, Royal lode: Driving east, the next 33 feet assays 32/6 a ton, the reef being wider than the drive at the face. At 113 feet the full width of the reef is 10£ feet, including 2ft. country rock. The assay value is 43/ a ton.
