The cricket match between Australia and Warwickshire was resumed today at Edgbaston, Birmingham, in dull weather, on an easy wicket. When stumps were drawn on Wednesday, the county had lost throe wickets for 20, in reply to Australia’s first innings total of 221. Groom, who had retired, after scoring 10, owing to an injured hand, batted confidently today, making 51 out of 75 in. 00 minutes, hitting nine fours.

Wyatt was uncomfortable against Flectwood-Smith, who got him leg-be-fore with a ball coming through quickly. Santall and Crammer hit hard, adding 50 in 45 minutes. The innings lasted 185 minutes. A crowd of 10,000 saw Australia reopen. McCabe and Brown were not inspiring. The latter batted 100 minutes for his 20.

McCabe was in excellent form, but was rather subdued, and batted for 145' minutes, his innings including 10 fours.

Ivippax was uncomfortable, afad failed to stay, but Darling was very aggressive land attractive, reaching 50 in 75 minutes.

Chipperfield and Barnett cautiously played out time.
