MEAT EXPORTS
AUSTRALIAN FEELING NO DUTY, OR CURTAILMENT. BRITAIN INFORMED. -a (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received 9 a.ra.) SYDNEY, August fi. The Federal Minister of Commerce, Mr F. H.' Stewart, announced today that the estimates of the possible exports of meat from Australia to Britain during the six months ending December .11, 1934, which have been forwarded to the British Government, piovide for an increase in volume in comparison with the previous years. Do said ho anticipated this |would be acceptable to the British Government. Mr Gtcwart stated that the feeling in tAustralia was completely against cither a duty or restrictions on Australian meat exports, and the British Government had been informed that Cither -would be contrary to all the principles of Australian development, and such a policy would be resisted to its utmost capacity by the Commonwealth Government.
