WHANGAREI CONTESTS. The Whangarei Miniature Rifle 'Club held their usual shoot on Tuesday evening last, when the. semi-final for the‘trophy presented by Messrs Higb gins and Garner was shot. M. K. ‘ Stewart, shooting 99—1—100, was top scorer. He improved his position and won the evening’s trophy. The final a will be decided on the 31st inst. The leading members are: M. K. Stewart f (392, J. H. Ashton 692, S. C. Wells 692, 1 W. Norris 690, The possible number r of points obtainable over seven shoots is 700, and a large gathering of the., 1 members will doubtless be present to k witness the final shoot, k The club will start on Thursday • evening a new competition for a cup > presented by the club’s executive (a > handicap event).
