HOSPITAL BALL,

One of the most successful dances of the year rewarded the efforts of the organisers of Hie Valley Hospital Ball on Thursday evening. A prettily decorated hall -and a capacity crowd ensured success.

An innovation in the way of; keeping the dances to a strict time limit proved popular and will undoubtedly become general in the district. The winners of a celebrity waltz were Miss Wattridge and Mr M. Wright. Two Monte Carlos went to Mr and Mrs D. Stitt and Mr and Mrs B. White. The Spot waltz was won by Mr E, Wright and Miss Veale. As a result of the ball the hospital fund will benefit to the extent of £S Supper was one of the popular features of the programme. Extras were played by Airs T). Stitt and Alias S. Wood. Two competitions went to Miss E. lie id who became the possessor of a turkey while a heifer was won by Aliss G. ■Wallace.
