MANGAMUKA
A meeting of the Mangamnka River Settlers’ Association Avas held in the Oiaahnfa school on Tuesday, May la. , There was a large number present, ami as it was Hie'first meeting of the association at Omabuta, the president, Mr ,f. If. Tnllocli, gave a short history of the M.R.8.A., which was started la years ago, and an account of its activities. Matters of local importance wore discussed—ragwort, saleyards at the Mangamnka Bridge, and the erection of the new hall. It was resolved to submit the following resolutions: That the association urge that a constable be stationed on the northern side of the Hokianga harbour; that the surveying and opening up of the land north of the Omahuta settlement be. expedited; that a post office or rural mail delivery be granted to the Omabuta settlers, and the position regarding the TntekehnaTe Karao road be ascertained. The association membership was increased by several Omabuta settlers. A vote of thanks to the chair, and supper by the ladies, concluded the meeting.
