i A social organised by the Kaitaia jP.W.AI.U. attracted a large gathering jto the Presbyterian Church on Tuesday evening. The Rev. Nicholas presided over the games and competitions, • which were a feature of Hie function, j Competitions were won by Mcsdames |J, Cowie, C. Matthews, C. O. Chapman, ! and Messrs C. O. Chapman and D. R. I ’Williams, Elocutionary items were given by the following:—Aliss Alavis McKinnon, Peggy Morrison and Air Hoggard. A duet was snug by Isabelle Morrison and Audrey Alasters, and was another pleasant item. Prior to supper, the Rev. Nicholas, in thanking those present for their support, touched upon the scope of the social activities of the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand. He quoted some illuminating figures relative to the good work done by the church, and emphasised the necessity for a continuance of the mission'work of the church. Personal, i Alisti O. Frost, of Lake Ohia, is leaving on a month’s holiday in Auckland and the AVaikato. Mr and Airs AI. Connery, of Sydney, who have been spending a holiday with Air and Airs Braik, of Ahipara, leave for Auckland on Friday.
