HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS PROMISING TALENT REVEALED. YOUNG CHAMPIONS EMERGING. Probably the largest attendance of parents and friends since the initiation of annual sports at the Whangaroi High School Avatched the events yesterday afternoon. The Aveather, Avhich bad been very threatening earlier In the day, moderated, but shortly after three o'clock some rain fell—not sufficient, howeA-er, to interfere with the programme. The principal, Mr A. R. Ryder, and his staff are to bo congratulated upon the efficiency of organisation which Avas maintained throughout. Every provision, including a fine afternoon tea, Avas made for the comfort and pleasure of A’isitors. Although there Avas an absence of outstanding senior athletes, some very promising material emerged in the junior and intermediate classes. This giA-os high hopes for the future, especially as most of the talent Avhich emerged yesterday should be available for some years.
