The AA-icket was easy, and the outfield fast. The match resulted in a Avin for Otago on the first innings by 5 runs. Otago opened disastrously, four Avickets falling for 5 runs. A fifth wicket partnership carried the total to 32, but the score Avas still low until the advent of Nimmo, ,AA r ho compiled Co in 20 minutes, saving his side, the score reaching 146. The home side commenced almost as disastrously, three Aviekets being doAA r n for 17 runs. Most of the remaining batsmen reached double figures, taking the total of 141. Otago in its second innings had lost six Aviekets for 01 runs, when stumps were drawn.
