CARD EVENING. A A-ery jolly card evening, in aid !of the Girl Guides’ funds, Avas held at Mrs H. Stewart’s residence. Bridge and 500 Avere the order of the night, and there was a full attendance. Constable Beasley, of Opotiki, who came up last week with Mrs Beasley and family to spend his annual month’s A r acation as the guest of his mother, avus the victim of a hard turn of luck. He had been at home only three days, when he was recalled by Avire OAving to the sudden illness of his chief at Opotiki. The summons Avas urgent, necessitating a start from Onerahi at 3 a.m. and the cancellation of all fixtures made for the holidays. PERSONAL. Among present visitors to the township is Mr A. Mason, Avho, Avith his Avife and family, came up from Auckland last Avcek and is the guest of bis mother, Mrs S. Mason. As a former Onerahi resident, he is glad to revisit old scenes and acquaintances.
