SOCIAL AND SALE AFTERNOON.

A very pleasant time was spent in the hall at Awanui on Wednesday afternoon, when the ladies of the Presbyterian Church held a "bring and buy” afternoon. The stalls, which were very neatly arranged, were under the supervision of the following ladies: Jumble, Mrs Frew; vegetables and produce, Airs McMullen, cakes, Airs Harrison; fishpond, Mesdames Bridgeford a:n'd Yassey. The tearooms were in charge of Mesdames D. and J. Richardson, West, Shaldcrs, and others, who provided a most dainty afternoon tea. There was a large attendance and the function was successful in every w r ay.
