ENGLAND’S CAPTAIN
JARDINE UNCOMMUNICATIVE
(Received 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, February 6
The Madras correspondent of the “Star” says that D. E. .Tardinc, at present in India, with the M.C.C. team, refused to make a statement when asked whether‘he would captain England, or play against the Australians. It is, however, generally believed he would accept if invited to play for England; Undoubtedly, after a drying tour, he needs a rest, but probably, in the interests of English cricket, he will carry on.
