Mr T. Brash, of Wellington, secretary of (ho- New Zealand-Dairy Produce Board, is visiting Auckland. Advice was received yesterday that Miss E. M. Roberts and Mr W. J. Burch have been, appointed to the teaching staff'of the Hora. Horn Prim-ary-School. Dr. E. Marsden, secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial' Research, arrived at Auckland from Wellington by train yesterday morning. ■Mr and Mrs Hubert Fairfax, of Sydney, arrived at Auckland by the Niagara yesterday. They left for the Bay of Islands to he present at the Waitangj celebrations today. Sir Elias. Nathan, a member of the Legislative Council of Western Australia, and Lady Nathan arrived at Auckland by the Niagara yesterday on a holiday visit. Mr and Mrs Lysaght and Miss Llewelyn, of England, were guests at tho Commercial Hotel last night. They left this’morning en route to Waitangi, as guests of the Governor-Genera!, Lord Bledisloe. Dr George Pierce, a retired Now York physician, who lias been twice previously to New Zealand, has arrived at Wellington by the Maunganni, and is looking forward to another good lime at Russell with the big fish. The Rev. Percy Paris has expressed his desire to relinquish the position of editor of the “Methodist Times,” and Dr. C. H. Laws has agreed to accept nomination as editor. The Rev. T. J, Wallis is nominated for reappointment as associate editor. Two of New Zealand’s leading lady golfers, Miss O, Kay, of Dunedin, and Miss B. Gaisford, of Marton, left Wei lington today by the Mataroa en route to England, where both will take part in the English women’s championship in May. The event will be played on the links of the Royal Porthcawl Club, Glamorganshire, Wales, i His Grace, Archbishop Mannlx, of Melbourne, is due to arrive in Auckland by tho Mariposa next Saturday, and will have a short holiday in Now Zealand before attending the jubilee celebrations of Atchbishop Redwood iu Wellington. The Archbishop will be accompanied by the Rev. R. J. Murphy, S.J., Rector of Newman’s College, University of Melbourne, and during his stay in. Auckland will be the guest of the Rt. Rev. Dr. J. Liston.
