OVERCOMING DISEASES
CONSIDERABLE ADVANCE. SERUM TREATMENT. (Per Press Association.—Copyright.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Returning to Australia after a visit to England, Europe and America, where h©~w'as sent by the Commonwealth Government to study latest developments in serum treatment, Dr, F. G. Morgan, of the Commonwealth Serum Laboratory, Parkville, Victoria, is a through passenger by the Maunganui to Sydney. When interviewed, Dr. Morgan said that during the past 10 years serum treatment for diseases had advanced considerably, but only through intense research w’ork both in connection with the prevention and euro of disease. He said that diseases due to filtrablo viruses, organisms, or germs which were so small that they could not be detected by ordinary methods, w r ere receiving particular attention in all the great centres of medical research. In this category, he added, were such diseases as influenza, encephalitis, yellow’ fever, infantile paralysis, etc. Dr. Morgan said the result of his tour was highly Satisfactory.
