A large strike by 500 miners in- the North Bohemian pits extended to thosd underground,, who refused to touch food stmt down by their families. The men were determined to die before they would abandon their demands foi higher wages. , * Some of the strikers suffered hunger convulsions. After negotiations had been carried on the hunger strike ended, but the' minors who left the pit refused to re.wme work.
