LOAN FOR WATER SUPPLY
POLL OF RATEPAYERS. PROPOSAL CARRIED. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) DUNEDIN, This Day. A proposal to raise a loan of £185,000 to augment the city water supply from a deep stream was carried at a small poll of ratepayers yesterday by a majority of nearly six to one. The voting was: For the proposal, 5310; against, 9GO. A total of 0307 ratepayers registered votes out of a total of 21,000 on the roll.
