FREE STATE FRICTION

EARLY ELECTION TALK REPUBLIC OBJECTIVE. .. '* CHANCE FOR SINN FEINERS. OPPOSITION ORGANISING.

(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received 9 a.m.) DUBLIN, August 15. There are persistent rumours that jMr. de Valera shortly will force another election, and the organisers of the Opposition party are said to 1m negotiating with the Centre party ip order to present a united front at the poll. The rumours are due to the expectations that the Senate this week will reject a number of bills and that consequently Mr. de Valera will go to the country instead of waiting for the bills automatically to 'llooolllo law in eight months’ time. It is recalled that Mr, de Valera promised that when the Oath of Allegiance was removed he would make another appeal to the electorate, which would allow Sinn Feiners to offer themselves for election. The Sinn Fein party, which stands for a republic, is endeavouring at present to raise funds to contest every seat.

A well-informed supporter of Mr. de Valera, however, scouts the idea of the possibility of an election.
