CRICKET FIELD
PLAYERS V. GENTLEMEN. AMES COMPILES 82. (Received II a.m.) LONDON, July 19. The first of the two Players v. Gentlemen cricket matches set down for the Oval on July 5 had to be abandoned, owing to the difficulty in raising teams. The second fixture at Lord's, however, commenced today, when the players opened the game with a score of 27S for nine wickets (Ames 82, James Langridge 71).
