BIG GAMES AHEAD. SUGGESTED NORTH ISLAND TOUR. There was a large attendance of members, presided over by the president, Mr J, P. Johnson, at the fortnightly meeting of the Northland Rugby League, hold in the Whnngarci Cruising Club shed.

A communication was received from the Kaikohe District League, stating that Saturday, June 2-1, •would be a

suitable date to send a representative team to play Northland, and it was decided that the match, Northland reps. v. Kaikohe reps., be played at Kensington Park on that date. It was also resolved that the City Club play the junior reps as a curtainraiser to the big game.

The senior and junior selectors were requested to choose rep. teams for Juno 24,

The West Coast League wrote stating that the date of their Northern tour was not yet definitely settled, and further arrangements were -held over.

The secretary of the Auckland League wrote agreeing to give the Northland League ah earlier date for the rep. fixture, Auckland v. Northland, and intimated that August 12 had been decided upon. The secretary was instructed to write thanking the Auckland League for complying with the request.

It was reported that the seven-a-sklo tournament was a great success, both from the playing and financial points of view. A handsome profit would result. The action of the Emergency Committee in upholding the protest of Takahiwai B against Hikurangi B for playing an unregistered player on that day was endorsed. The reinstatement of A. W. Hooker was granted, (subject to the approval of the New Zealand League., J. Crockett was granted a transfer to South Auckland. The secretary of the Marist intermediate grade team was at Hikurangi on Juno 3, and arrangements wore made with him to send a team at an early date. The matter of arranging a North Island tour for the Northland reps early next season -was further advanced, and it was proposed to include Auckland, South Auckland, Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay and Wellington in the itincrarv.
