INJURIES PROVE FATAL

HOTEL MANAGER’S FATE.

(Special to "Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day

F, 0. O’Connor, the first New Zealander to win the D.C.M. in the Great War, died at the Auckland Hospital today of injuries received when lie fell liaekwards downstairs.

O’Connor, who was manager of an hotel, had been ill with influenza. It is believed be was delirious when ho left his bedroom for the bathroom and overbalanced at the head of the staircase.
