, -AUCKLAND STATISTICS. ’ APPRECIABLE INCREASE. (Special to “Northern Advocate. ”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Compared with April, 1932, the Cus toms revenue collected at Auckland last month disclosed an increase of £8704, the figures being £166,517, against £157,813.

The total for the first four months of the calendar year, 701,892, was £44,167 greater than the total for the corresponding period last year.

A decrease of £3783 occurred in the combined collection of motor spirit, tax and tyro duties made in April, •when compared with the total collected in April, 1932.

Sales tax collections last month {realised £50,625. Beer duty paid was £9735, as against £8609 in April, 1932.

The Customs revenue at Wellington for April was £136,913, compared with £185,301 in April last year, and was the smallest for any month since May, 1931/when the total was £132,730. The total for the four mouths of the present year was £610,761. The motor Spirit tax in April realised £57,621, and for the four months £235,971, The tyre tax in April was £107(5 and for four months £4787. The Customs revenue at Dunedin for April totalled £10,711, against £11,031 for April last year. Petrol tax amounted to £14,0(57, against £12,608 in April, 1932. * Sales fax collected in Dunedin for the month totalled £22,358.
