HINKLER TRAGEDY
INTERMENT IN BRISBANE
WIDOW’S REQUEST GRANTED
STATE ARRANGEMENTS,
(Received 9 a.m.) PERTH, May 1
Tlio late Mr Bert Hinkler’s widow arrived at Fremantle today. .She received a. telegram from the Commonwealth Government offering to bring the body to Australia for burial, or wherever she desired, accompanied by fitting honours to the groat airman. A message from Canberra says that the Commonwealth Government's representative in Western Australia, has ascertained that Mrs Hinkler desires her husband’s body to be buried in Brisbane. The Government is arranging the matter accordingly. It will provide for a State funeral there om a. date to be fixed. :
A message from Florence says the body of Mr Hinkler is to be temporarily buried in the Protestant cemetery there, pending a possible decision to send it to Bundnberg. Mr. S, M. Bruce, Australian Minister in London, has communicated with the Italian Government' with a view to executing Mrs. Hinkler’s wishes.
