RAILWAY CONTROVERSY SOVIET SEIZURES. LOCOMOTIVES STILL KEPT, REPRISAL THREAT.

Following upon Moscow’s consent to return tlie rolling stock to the Chinese Eastern Railway which she seized, except the locomotives, the Manehukuo Government will present a Note demanding the unconditional return of all the engines belonging to that railway. It is believed that if the Soviet calls a strike in the railway . dr “hedges” in any way, the Manchukuo Government will proceed to seize the whole of the line in which Russia has half, a share.
WAR MATERIAL. BRITISH CONSIGNMENTS, DETAILS SUPPLIED. (Received 9 a.jn.) LONDON, April 15. In tlio House of Commons, Major D. J. Colville, Parliamentary Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department, said the war material exported from Britain to China in February and March included .armaments,tings and equipment for two and .12,000,000 rifle cartridges,; / • '
The exports to Japan included one aircaft gun mounting, and 300 machine guns. . ■ .
JAPANESE INTENTIONS. AS VIEWED BY RUSSIA. DYNAMITING BRIDGES. (Received 1 p.m.) , MOSCOW, April 16. The Soviet newspaper , “Izvestia” alleges that Japanese in Manchuria are plotting ,to secure control of the Chinese Eastern Railway by dynamiting the bridges, water towers and other equipment at the end of April. ' The paper urges the Japanese Government to restrain,; unbridled adventurers, including Japanese officials, of Manchukuo, who are seeking to complicate the situation in the Far East.
