SHEEP DOG TRIALS
A COMING ATTRACTION. On Wednesday arid Thursday of this week the annual dog trials .of the Whangarei County Sheep Dog Trial Club will be held on. Mr. D. J. Firilayson’s paddock, Kamo. The programme th a t w ill occupy the two days is a com.- - prehehsive one, comprising the long head, short head and yard and the huntaway classes. Entries in each competition, it is anticipated, will be strong and there is every prospect of southern competitors again visiting the north to try conclusions with our leading aspirants. The two days’ trials have always made an appeal to a large. , section of the public who are eager ti> visit the grounds to witness the proceedings. Only those who have actually seen the •extraordinary sagacity displayed by the sheep dog wall appreciate to the fullest the, at-. tractiveness of such a fixture. Each, year the club studies the interests of ’ its patrons by providing the necessary comforts for the enjoyment of all. The. ladies’ committee undertake the catering arrangements and there is always a . liberal supply of tasty viands, to .bef had. ■' - 170
