COVETOUS EYES ON BALKANS YUGOSLAVIAN TREPIDATION. FRONTIER DEFENCE PLANS. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Received 9 a.in.) LONDON, December 19. The Belgrade correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” states that Yugoslavia is preparing to defend her frontiers against Austria, Hungary, Italy and Albania, by settling organised irregulars on the Yugoslavia side. Yugoslavia, is convinced that Italy’s toleration of violent anti-Slav demonstrations is part of a deliberate campaign. A French correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” adds that a, Little Entente of foreign Ministers is now meeting at Belgrade to exchange views regal'd in g the latest developments of Italian policy. The correspondent states that Signor Mussolini mot M. Berengonr, a member of the French Senate, and other leading Frenchmen in November and insisted on the necessity for territorial changes on the map of Europe, which would be more than enough to throw the Continent into war. ,
It is reported that Mussolini emphasised that Italy ought to be regarded as the successor of Austria-Hungary and gave expression to ambitions regarding the Balkans comparable to the Fan-German schemes in pre-war days.
