The weather was fine for training at Ellerslie this morning, the bulk of the fast work taking place on the course proper on which flic poles were about (sft feet out from the inside rails. No. 3 grass track was also available and ‘he going on both was fair, though dead.

Ruling King was worked over !i mih', Supremo Ruler assisting liim over the last seven furlongs. He ran the full distance in 2.0 2-. j, the final six furlongs taking 1 .ft 1 .'l-5. Neither was going better than three-quarter pace. Karangapai and Hunting March finished in front of On Approval at the end of six furlongs in 1.25. Karangapai, who was on the outside, impressed. 'l’he two-year-old, Deputy Ruler, had Tetrarchate lo assist over three furlongs. They went from a stand at tin mile post, running their first two furlongs in 25 1-5 and completed three in ijs 1-5. Deputy Ruler was (hen eased up and Tetrarchate went on to complete five, furlongs in Ui 11-5. Deputy

Euler's effort was a. good one. Mahkill strode over a. round in 2.11 3-5. Gay Broney brought her hom < over the last five furlongs which occupied 1.7 3-5. They were on terms at the finish. Patutahi and Traced completed a similar task in 2.15. 1-n. There was little between them at the finish. After running his first three furlongs in 30 3-5, Hampton Park got to the end of six furlongs in 1.23. He was going comfortably at the finish.

Irnnmint and A T andyko were companions over five furlongs, running the first two in 26 1-5, and the full distance in 1.7 3-5. Inin mint bad a shade the belter at the finish. Marching Song and Royal Gallant wero sont seven furlongs, nud, running the first three in 40 l-ssoc, registered 1.37 1-5 for the full distance. Royal [ Gallant was going the better of the pair at the finish, but Marching Song also worked nicely. ; Llanore was holding Tahae Men safely at the end of half a mile which occupied 54sec. Over a similar distance, My Money was going matter than Barn Dance, ifigistoring 54 .1-5. Court Haven was several lengths in front of Marehotte after completing five furlongs in 3.7 .1-5, Court Haven m thriving well on her work. The Welcome Stakes candidates, Senior and Chrysology, trotted round to the three-furlong post and sprinted home in 38 2-ssec. This was a good gallop, with Chrysology going the better of the pair at the finish. Senior appears to be a lazy track worker and

when kicked along by his rider responded well. Aesculns did easy pace work on the

sand track. The best gallop of the morning over seven furlongs was registered by Kiltowyn, who beat Catoma by several lengths in 1.36. The first, three furlongs took 39 l-ssec. Psychologist alone got to the end of a round in 2.12 2-5, the final seven furlongs taking 1.39 2-5. Cynthia. N. was going bettor than Roman Mascot after traversing seven furlongs in 1.39 3-5. Both those horses

are in tip-top condition. Claremorc, after commencing very slowly, completed a round in 2.1.°. .°.-5. He had no pace until the last seven furlongs, which he ran in 1.37; Demylus and Glen Haupo assisted him .over the latter distance, but had several lengths’ advantage at the start, and Glen Haupo was a shade in front at the finish. After schooling over hurdles, Prince of Orange ran six furlongs in 1.21 4-5, doing it comfortably. Clontarf Bill', with a fair weight up, ran a similar distance in 1.2"). Echo Song did useful work, taking 54 l-osee for her last four furlongs. .Sister Em reeled off live furlongs in 1.0 3-5, and Lord Aintree ran the same distance in similar time. He was under restraint throughout. Tarporley traversed a round in 1.1.) 3-5, the last three furlongs faking -12 2-." sec. General Ln was timed to complete a round in 2.4 4-5. This hunter is going a hit short, in his work. The Jumpers. Xeil jumped the steeplechase fences on the flat twice, giving a good display the first time, but on the second occasion ho hit. the stone wall - and was nearly down. Prince of Orange jumped a couple of hurdles twice, giving a satisfactory display.

Tlie weather was line for training at Takanini this morning’, and the inside grass track was open for fast work, the going being excellent. Three gallops took place on the plough. On the Grass. Greek Gold and Holly Ln, with Ex aggeration as a companion the last five furlongs, ran six furlongs in Lit 3-o. Greek Gold finished just in front of Exaggeration with Holly Ln beaten off. The last five furlongs took 1.1 4-o.

Tea Trader was given an easy mile, taking ].44 4-.", P>ugle Call and Helium worked over seven furlongs, covering the last six easilv in 1.23.

Expeetaney, Cornnis, the Weathervane—Sennight colt and Gold Pocket were companions over half a mile. Expeetancy got the best of the start, but the other three headed her off at the finish in oft 1-os.

High Comedy and Speed Mint showed dasli while running half a mile in 4ft 3-os.

Great Emblem and Chief Joy, with Imperial Prince ns a companion over the last seven furlongs, went a mile in 1.44 l-o, after running the first, halt in ols. Imperial Prince and Grefft Emblem finished two lengths ahead of Chief Jov.

Royal Artist, with Lady Carrington to assist him over the last half mile, ran a mile in 1.45 2-5. Lady Carrington finished .just in front. Prolyxo had the measure of Gay Marigold at the end of a nicely run six furlongs in 1.15 5-5. Pillow Fight gave Eldora and Lord Willonyx about eight lengths’ start at the live furlongs post and was going comfortably, two lengths in front, at the finish in 1.2 2-5, the time of the other pair being 1.5 5-5. Lady A ane was a length in front of Foul Wind at, the end of live furlongs in 1.1 5-5, Risehoff assisting them over the first half mile.

Bell Topper, Thespis and Alignment were together at, the finish -.if five furlongs in I.lt 2-5. Alignment’s effortwas very pleasing for a. two-year-old. Miss Hewn ran live furlongs in 1.1 2-5.

Gay .Sheila, with iStar Artist as a companion over the last three furlongs, ran a half mile in -ti) 2-ss. They finished together. 'Reviver hit out well while running three furlongs, but. was not timed. On the Plough. Huntingdon and Palace ran six furlongs in 1.17, Huntingdon doing -it very easily. Principal ran the first half mile of bis work in o7s. Arch h’nler and A inberlin k 'sprinted up the straight at the end of their work. M.
