The British Exchequer returns com? tinue to show an increase in revemic and a decrease in expenditure in comparison with last year. The national revenue for the tveek ended 10 totalled £8,309,501, exceeding the. expenditure by’ £300,540. •’ -’AV,. \ The figures from April 1 to September 10 show Customs receipts £73‘,127,-: 000, an increase of £15,530,000 on last year. For the same period the excess of ordinary expenditure, over revenue, was reduced from £91,928,505, to £83,133,251. The sum of £28,139,920 was expended on repaying the credit of £20,000,000. obtained from Franco in September, 1931.
