FOOTBALLER’S FUNERAL
AT HIKURANGI TODAY.
LEAGUE REPRESENTATION,
At a meeting of the Northland League, held in Hikurangi last evening, a vote of sympathy with the parents and relatives of the late Mr Sam Harris, who expired suddenly on Saturday at Carlaw Park, Auckland, was passed in the usual manner. The body of the deceased player was brought home to Hikurangi for burial, the interment taking place this afternoon.
Telegrams w'ere received from the N.Z. Rugby League, Auckland League and Newton Club arranging for wreaths and official representation of these bodies at the funeral.
Members of tho Hikurangi League Club were appointed to act as pallbearers, and official representation was arranged as follows: —Mr J. R. Scott, Northland League; Mr E, W. Taylor, New Zealand League; Mr C. E. O’Callaghan, Auckland League; Mr A. Cadman, Newton Club; Mr E. Little, Referees’ Association; and Mr J. Crackett, City Club (Whangarei). Floral emblems, with the various League or club colours, were arranged for.
