POIGNANT SUFFERING
BOATSWAIN BADLY CRUSHED. NO DOCTOR ABOARD. (Received 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. P. Ray, batswftin of the Waikawa, suffered agony for five days after he was injured during a voyage from New Zealand, The vessel, which arrived here three days overdue, was without a doctor. Ray’s shoulder and legs were badly crushed when a roll of newsprint fell on- him. He was taken to hospital immediately the ship berthed.
