AN IMPORTANT MOVEMENT

The -active country movement which aims at constitutional reform and .the creation of new Federal units with New South Wales, received a decided impetus today, when delegates, from all parts of the country, at . a conference in Sydney, reached an agreement for the formation of a United Country Party. v •

The party’s platform will seek the subdivision of the State into hew Federal units, giving increased, representation in Parliament, tarff reform, improved transport, reduction of costs and taxation, a review of the arbitration laws, and the suppression of Communism.

The whole policy will be directed toward the betterment and development of the country areas.

The njew organisation will absorb the Country Political Party.
