WASHING AT ITS WORST.
Boys’ . clothes are particularly troublesome to wash, Grease, oil, and tar stains have sometimes to be removed as. well as grime and mud. The, best treatment is a paraffin wash. Paraffin will qiucldy dissolve any form of grease and oil, and will help to cleanse the clothes quickly. Put- two tablespoonfnls of paraffin into the copper with eight gallons of water, and enough soap flalus# or grated soap to make the water- foamy, ; Let the clothes simmer in this for about twenty to thirty minutes, hen rinse in two lots'of hot water and hang out in the air to dry and: remove the smell of paraffin. ;r . Paraffin washing is also excellent in the ease of an infectious illness, as it acts as a- disinfectant.
