Mandarins are partien laity cheap at the present time. A good shipment of Australian fruits arrived by the Monowai, Oranges were in good condition, but the mandarins were only fair. The \\ T aipahi arrived direct wit It Cook Island oranges and tomatoes. The oranges were in poor condition, but the tomatoes were good. Large quantities of apples are on the market, including supplies from outside the Auckland district. Prices still rule on the low side, ranging from j2d to 4d per lb, the latter price being asked for popular varieties of desserts. Passion fruit are now marked 8d per dozen, and tomatoes sell at 8d per 11). Sydney white grapes of good quality can be got at 1/ per lb, and Californian new season’s plums are marked at 8d -per lb. Fine large pines sell from 1/ to 1/3 each. There are very few cauliflower about, and supplies are likely to bo short for another fortnight. Cabbages are more plentiful this week.
