■ To aid the funds of flic Whangardi Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, a concert was held in the Waipu 'Hall''on. Thursday, August (i. The concert party, organised by Mr A. About 80 members and friends were present at the August meeting of the Institute. After the usual business had been transacted, the .following members took part in a one-act play': Mesdamcs Jenkinson, Abercrombie and Cullen, and Misses Moreland, McAulay and Coates, Mrs 1 R. Campbell directed the play, which was, very well acted and much appreciated. Mesdames Muller and Cullen delighted the company with a pianoforte duct. An interesting demonstration of needlework was given by Mrs Cullen, The display of china was very good. The hostesses were Mesdames McAulay, McLean, Maiecy and Pinlayson. Community singing brought a most successful meeting to a. close.
