FEW SALES RECORDED. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. A busy spell of activity on the local Stock Exchange has been followed by another quiet period, and only a few sales have been recorded during the past 24 hours. At this morning’s call bidding was dull. In the banking section New Zealands were on offe* £2 8/0, but there wore no buyers. New Zealand Insurances changed hands at £1 18/ , the lowest figure accepted for a considerable period. After the sale the scrip was on offer at £1 18/6, with best buyers at £1 17/6. Farmers’ Auctioneering shares received some attention. The ordinary issue was on offer at £3, and for the preferences 14/ was bid for the A’s and 12/ for the B s.
A buyer came in for Northern Steam at 6/6. Moturoa Oils were still in request at 5/. In Government stocks, 44 per cents, were on offer at par, and £O2 10/ was bid for both issues of 54 per cents, ‘ The Noon Call. At the noon call £2 8/- was offered for Bank of New Zealands. Buyers fer. N.Z. Breweries moved up 3d to £1 0/3, and for Mt. Lyalls 16/9 was bid. Taxfree bonds eased, and there was a seller at £O9 17/6. Moturoa Oils also weakened, a buyer dropping his limit to 4/6. Goldsboro Motts were offered Gd cheaper at 19/6. Northern Steamships changed hands at 7/6, a drop of 3/6 since May.
