A new draw was played on Thursday for the women r a national tennis championships, placing Mrs WillsMoody and Miss Betty Nuthall in different halves of the draw.
In the Rye tournament, Hughes (England) defeated . Cohen: 4 —6, 6—4, 6 —3, in the singles.
In, the semi-finals of the ladies ’ singles, Mrs| Pitman defeated Miss Sarah Palfrey: 6—3, 6—o, and Miss Joan Ridley defeated Mrs ‘Jessup.: 6—2, 6 —2, making it an all-English final.
