PLANE IN TROUBLE

FAULTY LANDING. PILOT NOT HURT. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) WANGANUI, Wednesday. A pilot named Buchanan, of Wairarapaj who had just obtained his pilot’s license, had a narrow escape from injury when landing in a moth aeroplane at the Wanganui airport yesterday. He attempted to land in a crosswind, apparently not observing the signals. The machine bumped three times and then somersaulted a few feet away from the lire signals. Benzine sputtered over the engine, but did not ignite. Buchanan was not hurt.
