BACK TO WORK

STRIKE CALLED OFF.

(Per Press Association.—Copyright.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Practically all those relief -workers who went on strike last week as a protest against the new relief rates of pay had returned to work yesterday. A warning was published on Saturday to the effect that unless the men returned to work by yesterday they would have to stand down and re-register before becoming eligible for further employment. The great majority of the strikers availed themselves of the opportunity of returning to their jobs without being penalised.
