BIBLE CLASS CAMP
PRESBYTERIANS DISPERSE. In the midst light drizzling rain and scones of groat excitement, the third annual Presbyterian Bible 'Class camp came to a successful conclusion yesterday morning, everyone planning to meet again in camp next Easter, Yesterday the cpiiet, secluded beach at Tawhara Bay "was invaded by a large crowd of picnickers. In addition to the campers a number of friends from WhangareL and other places joined in the outing, A very enjoyable time was spent in climbing the cliffs, surfing, exploring the rocks and sunbathing. The day was beautifully fine and warm. Lunch was eaten under a spreading pohutukawa, to the accompaniment of much merriment. As several campers had to return home in the evening, the opportunity was taken at tea-time to accord votes of thanks to a number of those who had contributed so largely to the success of the camp. Cheers were given for Camp Mother and Camp Eather, Revs. W, Elliott, D. Martin and R. Stewart, Sisters Elliott and Heather, the district committee executive, the cook (Mr Lucas), several outstanding camp personalities, and the Kauri people. Replying on behalf of the last-mentioned, Mr Stewart said, briefly: “Gome again.” The final service of camp was conducted by the Rev. ,T. A. Thomson, who gave a stirring message on St. Paul’s words: “God forbid that I should glory save in the Cross of Christ my Lord.” His message will be remembered in many young hearts when memory of the lighter moments of camp life has faded. Later in the evening, at prayers in the hall and school, several of the leaders passed on thoughts to the young people. These, also, stirred many a responsive chord in tlie hearts of their hearers. ,
. Looking back on the few days spent in camp, one is impelled to think that there can be nothing dike these camps for forming new friendships that will last, cementing old acquaintanceships, realising the best things m life, and, best of all, feeling that one's spiritual life has been enriched.
