Francis McGovern, aged Ay, a jockey, was larrested in an hotel early this morning on a charge of stealing, at Point Piper, Sydney, between September - r ! and Id, front the dwelling of John Sydney Povill, one diamond and platinum brooch, other diamond jewellery, two suitcases, .and two pairs (if binoculars of a total value of £:?4fH). Accused was .remanded till October the detective saying that an escort was coming from Sydney.

Counsel .ashed that accused-Vs name be suppressed, saying Hint: the charge looked ominous, but his client had n complete answer to it. The Magistrate refused suppression, and also refused to grant bail,
