THURSDAY FOOTBALL
COMPETITION TO BE HELD. ft was definitely decided at last night’s meeting of the Whangaroi Rugby Union’s Management Committee to proceed with the holding of a Thursday competition. A committee of four delegates, and one from the union is to bo appoint" ed. Mr C. Powell was appointed the union’s representative on the committee and the nomination of Mr E. Pearce was accepted. Nominations for the competition will definitely close on Saturday and I lie draw'made on Tuesday. The first run tell will be played on the following Thursday. Admission ehargos to the matches were fixed. It was decided to notify the selector of the commencement of the competition, and in the event of his being unable to attend to appoint a deputy. Permission was granted for Thursday players to hold a practice game tomorrow.
