RUGBY IN FRANCE.DEPLORABLE INCIDENTS. (Received. 12.50 p.m.) PARIS, May 5. - ‘'Promise mo it is your last game,” Madame Pradie beseeched her 20-year-old sou before ho played in a Rugby game at Bordeaux. “They will kill you yet.” The same night Pradie died in his mother’s arms -from spine injuries received in the game. During the game another player tried to strangle- an -opponent and refused to obey the referee, whom he kicked heavily in the thigh. Thirteen players were seriously hurt and unable to leave the- field unaided. Joan Galio, hearing of Pradie’s death said: “I shall never play Rugby
again. ’ ' Tho 'general feeling is that unless ■prompt ’ and effective stops are taken ’■Rugby in France is doomed. Eiibere, the French Rugby captain said: “Many injuries are not due to accidents. Rugby is top brutal.”
