OBITUARY
MR WILLIAM (WRIGHT. (Special to "Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, Tills Day. One of the oldest of the fonner employees of the "Auckland Star,” My William Wright, died at his home today. Mr Wright was a son of a sergeant in the 65th Regiment, and was born in Auckland, He married a Miss Motion, who died a few years ago. There were no children. A brother, Mr John Wright, is still alive. Mr Wright was photographed a' few. days ago for a group of old employees of the "Star,” and his death occurred just on the eve of the issim of the Jubilee number. He learned the printing profession at the office of the "Southern Cross,” which used to be in Chancery Lane. Afterwards ho was. employed at the Government Printing Office in Wellington, before ho joined the staff' of the "Auckland £*tar” newspaper,_ where he was stone hand for 40 years. Although offered a pension by the firm, Mr AVright preferred lo continue working, and was verging on tb eighty before lie ultimately retired.
