Heavy rain last night and this morning prevented further play in the Australia Leicester cricket match, which was abandoned, the county having scored 148 in the first innings' and the visitors 3G5 for five wickets. Bowling for Leicester, Geary took 4 wickets for 85 runs; Snary,, 1 for 89; Armstrong, 0 for 25; Shipman, 0 for 59; Astill, 0 for 99.
The “Daily Telegraph ’ ’ says; “Bradman won every heart immediately by his confidence and suggestion of immense physical strength. It may be debatable whether he is another Trumper, but he is certainly a batsman of the highest degree.” By scoring 236 against Worcester and 185 (not out) against Leicester, Bradman’s average stands at the stupendous figure of 421.
