Mr and Mrs H. N, Geissler and family returned by the Maunganui on Wednesday after a. month’s holiday in Australia. Most of the time was spent in iSydnoy and Melbourne, (where Mrs Geissler has relatives), the Blue Mountains and the beaches. Mr Geissler told a “Northern Advocate ’’ reporter yesterday that tiro metropolitan theatres across the Tasman wore not superior to (the best in Auckland, while as a rule the Australian papers were most uninviting, and not up to the Now Zealand standard. Although they were in Sydney when the coal trouble was at its height, there might not have been a great industrial dispute raging for all the ■effect it had on the everyday life. Notwithstanding rough sea passages that were encountered, Mr and (Mrs Geissler thoroughly enjoyect their trip.
