(From Our Own Correspondent.) . Thanks to the loyal support of the settler®, the Library lias regain been established. A live committee Has been working diligently for some time, with the result that there are now some 250 new books on the shelves in the spacious cupboards in the new hall. There is every probability that before long this number will toe substantially increased by the addition of further papular works. THE SCHOOL PICNIC. Since 'coming into the district, the local teacher, Mr L. C. Pender, has worked incessantly on behalf of the children, and the breaking-up function, held in the.school grounds on Saturday, 14th inst., proved no exception to the rule. Tables had been erected id the school : .bush, and the children, all in the best of spirits, did full justice to the good things temptingly arranged toy the ladies, A programme of varied events kept the youngsters fully occupied, during the afternoon, at the close of the day, tired, but 1 happy, the children wandered horae;their only regrets being that another year must pass before such, another day. '
