DEATH OF A WIFE
NEGLIGENCE PROVED. DAMAGES AWARDED. (Per Press Association.'—Copyright.) WELLINGTON, This Day. In a claim against F. C. Tracer for damages in knocking down and killing Mrs Alton, at Upper Hiitt, the jury found defendant guilty of negligence in crossing to the wrong side in order to pass another car, without ascertaining that the road was clear and keeping a proper look-out. The plaintiff, John Alton, was awarded £750 damages.
